WHAT IS A CSA?
CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture”. CSA programs are designed to build a relationship between the farmer and community. When you become a member of our CSA you are essentially buying shares in the farms output before the season starts, and then reaping the benefits of the harvest each week as the season progresses. We are cutting out the middleman and you are getting organic, local food grown using sustainable farming practices.
The benefits of a CSA are endless. Typically, we buy fruits and vegetables from the grocery store that have been shipped from all over the world, regardless of the season. This means that food is harvested before it has ripened in order to make the journey. When your produce is harvested early this sacrifices the nutritional value and flavor. By choosing locally grown food, you ensure that you are eating the freshest, most nutrient dense and best tasting food possible and being environmentally responsible at the same time.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN OUR CSA BOX:
Each member will enjoy a weekly box of 5-7 seasonal vegetables, the best and freshest of what's available on the farm. It's a good fit for households of 1 to 3 people. We grow over fifty types of vegetables and strive to provide a wide variety week-to-week.
You can always request a skip week during the CSA season. This gives you the ability to put a hold on your box when you're out of town, etc., and receive a credit for extra vegetables when you're back.
A weekly newsletter filled with photos from the farm, recipes, inspiration, cooking and storage tips for all the produce.
