Green Bexar Farm was established in February 2018 with the vision of growing the highest quality food for our family and surrounding community. We are located on a 10 acre pecan orchard in Saint Hedwig, Texas, right outside the big city of San Antonio.
We are currently farming on just under 1 acre total of land, producing greens, roots, fruits, microgreens, herbs, pasture raised chickens and turkeys, eggs, pecans, and other specialty items. Here on the farm we practice regenerative agriculture and we pride ourselves on being environmentally responsible. By choosing locally grown food, you ensure that you are eating the freshest, most nutrient dense and best tasting food possible.
Green Bexar Farm is owned and operated by husband and wife team Cody and Natalie Scott.
We began this journey wanting to grow the best possible food for our family. We wanted our kids to know where food comes from and get the optimal nutrition from it. What started as a hobby for Cody slowly developed into a business venture. He dove headfirst into learning everything he could about urban farming, sustainable agriculture, high yield crops, and any piece of information he could get his hands on to make it a success. This has definitely been a labor of love for our family and we are so excited to get to share the fruits of our labor with all of you.
What is Regenerative Agriculture?
Regenerative agriculture is a conservation and rehabilitation approach to food and farming systems. It focuses on topsoil regeneration, increasing biodiversity, improving the water cycle, enhancing ecosystem services, supporting bio sequestration, increasing resilience to climate change, and strengthening the health and vitality of farm soil.
